Public Notice: August 3, 2006

Ozark Action, Inc. is currently seeking Board Members to represent the Howell and Texas County Private Sector. Ozark Action, Inc. (OAI) is a community action agency, which aims to assist individuals and families towards increased economic self-sufficiency.  It provides emergency services, affordable housing programs, Weatherization assistance, Head Start, Workforce Development programs, and helps strengthen community infra-structure through collaboration efforts that combine and conserve resources and develop new-programs.

The OAI governing board is composed of equal representation from members who represent the low-income who are served by the agency’s programs, the public sector which has the ability to influence funding for those programs, and the private sector, which can help to mobilize support for programs that benefit those needing assistance towards the goal of economic self-sufficiency.

Howell or Texas County residents representing community and business organizations who are interested in volunteer services are encouraged to inquire about the Board nomination process by contacting Kimberly Barks or Bryan Adcock at the Ozark Action office in West Plains (417) 256-6147 or the local Ozark Action office in their County by September 18, 2006.

Ozark Action, Inc. is currently seeking Oregon, Ozark, and Wright County Low-Income Representative for the Ozark Action Board of Directors.  Interested Oregon, Ozark, or Wright County residents who either are among those served by OAI or who have a strong interest in representing the needs of the low-income to become economically self-sufficient and are willing to perform volunteer services are encouraged to inquire about the Board nomination process by contacting Kimberly Barks or Bryan Adcock at the Ozark Action office in West Plains (417) 256-6147 or the local Ozark Action office in their County by September 18, 2006.
